QVC has issued a recall for more than one million pairs of oven gloves after receiving dozens of injury reports and determining that they pose a burn hazard. The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission published the recall notice, stating that the Temp-tations Oven Gloves may fail to provide sufficient protection from heat, potentially causing burns to consumers.
The recalled oven gloves were sold in single pairs, sets of two, and sets with drying mats or trivets in various colors such as blue, yellow, red, floral, and summer shell prints. The gloves were sold under model numbers K51459, K76398, K47973, K48879, K85322, K96004, K92603, K308719, K309220, K309388, and K309516. Each glove is made of cotton and elastane and comes in small and large sizes with the label “Temp-tations by Tara” stitched inside.
According to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, QVC has received 162 reports of insufficient heat protection, resulting in 92 minor burns. The gloves were sold between August 2018 and August 2024 for $4 to $13 per pair and in bundled sets with other kitchen items for approximately $14 to $26 per set.
Consumers who have purchased the recalled oven gloves are urged to stop using them immediately and contact QVC for a refund. To initiate the refund process, consumers can visit the online registration page set up by QVC for the recall. They will need to provide photographic proof of ownership of the Temp-tations Oven Gloves and may be required to enter a case number if available. If no case number is available, consumers can check if their gloves are part of the recall by providing information on where they purchased the gloves and their personal details to be contacted for a refund.
In light of this recall, consumers are advised to check their kitchen drawers for any Temp-tations Oven Gloves purchased from QVC and take the necessary steps to ensure their safety.
