First Robotic Bronchoscopy Platform Introduced in South Korea
South Korea’s National Cancer Center is making history with the first deployment of a robotic-assisted endoscopic imaging system for lung cancer diagnosis in the country. This innovative technology, provided by US-based Intuitive Surgical, is expected to revolutionize the way lung cancer is diagnosed in Korea by offering high-precision capabilities that address current limitations in tissue examination.
The robotic bronchoscopy platform will also be implemented at Ulsan University Hospital, further expanding access to this cutting-edge technology. Evaluation studies are currently underway, with plans for clinical application scheduled for next month in June.

Vellore Institute of Technology in Tamil Nadu, India and Gleneagles Hospital Chennai have recently entered into a collaboration to drive research and development in the field of brain health. The ultimate goal is to produce prototypes that can be validated and commercialized for applications in epilepsy care, neuro-oncology, neurorehabilitation, and cognitive health monitoring.
