Apollo Hospitals, in collaboration with the University of Leicester, has inaugurated a cutting-edge research center dedicated to digital health and precision medicine. The center, with hubs located at The Apollo University campus in Chittoor and Glenfield Hospital in Leicester, will focus on developing innovative digital and personalized solutions using advanced analytical techniques. Specifically, the research will concentrate on cardiovascular diseases, acute and emergency medicine, and multi-morbidity.
Dr. Prathap C Reddy, the founding chairman of Apollo Hospitals, expressed his vision for the Centre for Digital Health and Precision Medicine, aiming to revolutionize healthcare delivery by enhancing disease prediction, prevention, diagnosis, and management for both acute and chronic conditions. The collaboration also includes the introduction of a Master’s program in computational health data science and a mental health nursing program.
Partnership with Mayapada Healthcare Group in Indonesia
In addition to the partnership with the University of Leicester, Apollo Hospitals has recently joined forces with the Mayapada Healthcare Group in Indonesia. The collaboration focuses on leveraging advanced technologies such as teleradiology, e-ICU, and AI to improve patient care and healthcare accessibility. As part of this partnership, Apollo Hospitals will deploy up to 1,000 specialists to Mayapada’s health facilities, offering training programs in specialized areas like oncology, cardiology, neurology, and transplant surgery. Furthermore, Apollo Hospitals will provide management expertise to Mayapada for the operation of their upcoming hospital in Batam.
Singapore General Hospital’s Innovative Jaundice Detection App
Singapore General Hospital has developed a groundbreaking mobile application called BiliSG for at-home screening of jaundice in newborn children. Collaborating with SingHealth Polyclinics and Synapxe, the app utilizes AI to analyze bilirubin levels by capturing photos of the baby’s skin using a smartphone camera. The app’s unique approach addresses limitations in existing jaundice detection apps, paving the way for improved accuracy and effectiveness in early diagnosis.
Enhancing Healthcare Education in Vietnam
The Ho Chi Minh City Center for Disease Control (HCDC) has partnered with Docquity, a healthcare professionals’ network, to launch a dedicated education channel for Vietnamese health workers. This initiative aims to provide over 3,000 healthcare professionals in Vietnam with updated information on disease prevention advancements and professional guidelines through Docquity’s application over the next three years.
Samsung Health App Integrates Health Records Feature in India
Samsung has introduced a new health records feature on its mobile health application in India, allowing users to create and access their Ayushman Bharat Health Account. The collaboration with Eka Care enables seamless integration with the Indian government’s digital health records ecosystem. Additionally, Samsung has incorporated a QR code scanner on its app for users to receive virtual queue tokens at ABDM-compliant hospitals and clinics during their OPD visits.
