Dan Zamansky has recently taken on the role of Chief Product and Technology Officer at Amwell, a telehealth vendor. Zamansky, who previously held the position of General Manager of Platform Core Services at Amazon, brings over a decade of experience in product management, engineering, and technology to his new role.
In his new position at Amwell, Zamansky will oversee the company’s product and research and development organizations, with a focus on enhancing the virtual care platform provided to payers and health systems. His background includes founding and leading Amazon Web Services Health AI, where he developed artificial intelligence tools for healthcare and life science companies. Most recently, he led technology teams in Amazon’s ad business as the General Manager for Platform Core Services.
Zamansky’s appointment comes as Vaughn Paunovich, the previous Executive Vice President of Enterprise Platforms at Amwell, departs from the company for personal reasons. This change in leadership follows other recent shifts at Amwell, including the appointment of Mark Hirschhorn as Chief Financial Officer and Chief Operating Officer, and the departure of Kathy Weiler as Chief Commercial and Growth Officer.
Amwell is focused on achieving positive cash flow by 2026, as indicated by company executives during a recent earnings call. The telehealth vendor has made efforts to streamline its product portfolio and drive growth, including the sale of its virtual psychiatric care business to Avel eCare in January.
As Amwell continues to evolve and adapt to the changing healthcare landscape, Zamansky’s expertise and leadership are expected to play a key role in driving the company’s innovation and growth in the telehealth industry.
