Ohio behavioral health nonprofits Butler Behavioral Health and Best Point Education and Behavioral Health have officially announced their merger, with Butler becoming a wholly owned subsidiary of Best Point Education and Behavioral Health. This decision came after Best Point evaluated several potential partnerships over the last 18 months, ultimately finding that merging with Butler Behavioral was the most strategic and beneficial move.
John Banchy, CEO of Best Point Education and Behavioral Health, explained that after turning down five other partnership opportunities, the decision to merge with Butler made perfect sense. Butler Behavioral Health has a strong reputation and a stable leadership team, making it an ideal partner for Best Point. This merger will increase the total employee headcount to 650, combining the previous estimate of 440 employees from Best Point and 107 employees from Butler Behavioral Health.
With a combined annual revenue of $65 million, the merger will expand the number of behavioral health services offered from 30 to over 50 services for adults, adolescents, and children. Banchy emphasized that the focus will be on refining existing services, enhancing operations, and eventually adding new service lines to meet the needs of the community.
The integration efforts will begin over the next year, with teams from both organizations working together to align operations and services. The primary focuses of the integration will be on evaluating benefit packages for staff, maximizing efficiencies, ensuring continuity of care, and offering additional services for clients.
Randy Allman, CEO of Butler Behavioral Health, highlighted the solid financial standing and distinct clinical reputations of both organizations as key factors in the decision to merge. By combining their services and expertise, the new entity aims to reduce patient wait times and provide better care to individuals in crisis across Butler, Clermont, Hamilton, and Warren Counties in Ohio.
Despite the merger, Butler Behavioral Health will continue to operate under its name, but will have access to more resources to offer their clients. The focus now is on strengthening the new merger and ensuring high-quality care before considering any further expansion. The goal is to provide top-notch services and support to the community while making a positive impact on the behavioral health landscape in Ohio.
