NSW introduces VirtualAdult service for urgent care
Following the success of their virtual health service for children and youth, the New South Wales government has launched a similar service for adults. The VirtualAdult service will offer urgent care through video conferencing for common illnesses and injuries such as coughs, colds, flu, respiratory symptoms, vomiting, diarrhea, and rashes.
The service was initially launched in Sydney in December and is expected to expand statewide by the end of 2025. This initiative aims to alleviate the strain on emergency departments across NSW and provide convenient access to healthcare for adults in need of immediate medical attention.
Digital pharmacy ordering now available in Victoria
Slade Health, a compounding pharmacy within the Icon Group, has implemented a digital ordering system for public hospitals in Victoria. By integrating the Charm Evolution system with their in-house software, they have streamlined the ordering process and eliminated manual entry.
This digital system allows public health facilities and hospitals to place orders electronically, providing real-time visibility into order status and updates. With Victoria being the second state in Australia to fully digitize hospital pharmacy ordering, this move signifies a significant step towards enhancing efficiency and accuracy in medication management.
