Braga Fresh, a California-based company, has issued a voluntary health advisory in response to a potential contamination of listeria in a single production lot of washed and ready-to-eat broccoli. The affected product, Marketside Broccoli Florets, was sold at Walmart stores under the Marketside label. The contamination was discovered through positive lab results from random samples taken from a Texas store.
The affected broccoli was sold in various states, including Alaska, Arkansas, Arizona, California, Colorado, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Louisiana, Michigan, Montana, Nevada, Ohio, Oklahoma, Oregon, Texas, Utah, Washington, and Wyoming. Despite the potential contamination, no illnesses have been reported to date.
Consumers who purchased the affected broccoli should look for bags with a best-if-used-by date of Dec 10, 2024. The packaging will also have a UPC of 6 81131 32884 5 on the back, a Lot Code of BFFG327A6 on the front, and a Best-if-used-by date of Dec 10, 2024. While the product is no longer on store shelves, it may still be in consumers’ refrigerators or freezers.
If you have the affected product in your home, it is advised not to consume it. Instead, discard the broccoli or return it to the place of purchase for a refund. For any questions or concerns, consumers can contact Braga Fresh at 877-456-7445, Monday through Friday from 8 am to 4 pm PST, or email WeCare@bragafresh.com.
