A popular Casa Mamita product sold at Aldi stores in 13 states has been recalled due to a potential undeclared milk allergen. The U.S. Food & Drug Administration (FDA) issued a recall for Aldi’s Casa Mamita Churro Bites Filled with Chocolate Hazelnut Cream.
The impacted product was sold in select Aldi stores in Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Iowa, Illinois, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Tennessee. The recalled churro bites were packed in a 7.05-ounce cardboard box with a lot number of 01425 and a “Best If Used By” date of July 14, 2025.
Consumers can identify the recalled product by checking the packaging for the lot number and expiration date mentioned above. Product images are available on the FDA’s website for reference. It is important to note that no other Casa Mamita or Aldi products are affected by this recall.
The recall was initiated because the churro bites contain milk, but the allergen warning for milk was not printed on the packaging as required by the FDA. The manufacturer, Camerican International, identified the issue as a “temporary breakdown” in processing and packaging, which has since been resolved.
Individuals with a milk allergy should refrain from consuming the recalled product, as it can pose serious or life-threatening reactions for those with milk allergies or intolerances. Instead, they are advised to dispose of the product or return it to their Aldi store for a full refund.
As of now, no allergic reactions or illnesses have been reported in connection with the consumption of the Casa Mamita Churro Bites Filled with Chocolate Hazelnut Cream. For consumers without a milk allergy, no action is required as the recall was issued due to a labeling error and not because the product is inherently unsafe to eat.
For any inquiries or concerns regarding the recall, consumers can contact Camerican International directly at 1-201-587-0101 or fsqaincidents@camerican.com. It is important to stay informed and take necessary precautions to ensure food safety and prevent any adverse reactions.
