Name: Nader Kabbani
Previous Title: Senior vice president, transformation initiatives, Symbotic
New Title: Chief Operations Officer, Hims & Hers Health
Nader Kabbani is set to assume the role of Chief Operations Officer at Hims & Hers Health starting May 19, as announced by the telehealth company.
With almost two decades of experience at Amazon, Kabbani played a pivotal role in the acquisition of online pharmacy PillPack and the establishment of Amazon Pharmacy. He spearheaded initiatives such as providing COVID-19 vaccines to Amazon employees and was instrumental in the development of key services like Amazon Logistics, Amazon Kindle, and Prime Video.
Prior to joining Hims & Hers, Kabbani held positions at warehouse robotics firm Symbotic and supply chain logistics company Flexport, showcasing his expertise in scaling operations at a high level.
Andrew Dudum, CEO and founder of Hims & Hers, expressed confidence in Kabbani’s ability to shape the future of healthcare, citing his extensive operational experience.
His appointment comes following the transition of Melissa Baird, the previous Chief Operating Officer, into an advisory role at the company.
Challenges and Successes
Despite facing challenges related to the availability of weight loss drugs earlier this year, Hims & Hers has shown resilience. In February, the company considered discontinuing compounded versions of Novo Nordisk’s GLP-1 medication Wegovy due to FDA regulations, but later formed a partnership with Novo Nordisk to offer the drug at a discounted rate.
Moreover, Hims & Hers exceeded market expectations in its first-quarter earnings report. The company reported a significant increase in net income, reaching $49.5 million compared to $11.1 million in the previous year. Revenue also saw a substantial rise, reaching $586 million, up from $278.2 million in the same period last year.
As Hims & Hers continues to navigate the evolving telehealth landscape, Nader Kabbani’s appointment signals a strategic move to further enhance the company’s operational capabilities and drive innovation in the healthcare sector.
