Jakarta Heart Hospital Leads the Way in Robotic Cardiac Surgery in Indonesia
The Harapan Kita National Cardiac Hospital in Jakarta has achieved a significant milestone by becoming the first hospital in Indonesia to perform robotic cardiac surgery. This groundbreaking procedure was made possible through a collaboration with India-based SS Innovations and its CEO, Dr. Sudhir Srivastava.
The hospital successfully conducted a Totally Endoscopic Coronary Artery Bypass using robotic technology, along with other procedures such as Internal Mammary Artery CABG and ASD Repair. Dr. Iwan Dakota, the hospital director, expressed his enthusiasm for integrating robotic surgery into cardiovascular care, citing the SSi Mantra system as the ideal choice for robotic cardiac surgery.
Following regulatory approval from the Indonesian Ministry of Health, SS Innovations is now able to market its robot-assisted surgery system in the country, marking a significant advancement in cardiac care technology.
South Korea Introduces Electronic Medical Record System for Closed Health Facilities
The South Korean Ministry of Health and Welfare has initiated a pilot program for a medical record storage system designed for closed or shuttered medical institutions. This innovative electronic system allows patients from facilities that have ceased operations to access their medical records seamlessly.
Collaborating with the Korea Health Industry Development Institute, the pilot program involves 12 public health centers that utilize commercial EMR systems with automatic medical record transfer capabilities. This initiative stems from a revision in the Medical Act in 2020 and is slated for an official launch by June next year.
