McDonald’s is bringing back a blast from the past with the launch of their new McDonaldland Meal on August 12. This nostalgic meal is a nod to the vintage McDonaldland marketing campaigns of the early ‘70s, featuring a colorful fantasy world with whimsical characters.
The McDonaldland Meal includes your choice of a Quarter Pounder with Cheese or 10-piece McNuggets, fries, and a special pastel blue and pink Mt. McDonaldland Shake. The flavor of the shake is being kept a secret, described by McDonald’s as an “enchanting concoction” inspired by the whimsical world of McDonaldland.
Each McDonaldland Meal also comes with a collectible tin featuring one of six designs inspired by different characters from the McDonaldland universe. Inside the tin, you’ll find postcards, stickers, and other souvenirs that will take you on a trip down memory lane.
McDonaldland was a beloved part of McDonald’s advertising and branding from 1971 to 2003, featuring iconic characters like Grimace, Mayor McCheese, Birdie, Hamburglar, and Ronald McDonald. The concept has since been phased out, but McDonald’s is bringing it back with the launch of the McDonaldland Meal.
To add to the nostalgia, McDonald’s has partnered with brands Away and Pacsun for special collaborations. Away will be offering free McDonaldland luggage tags and bag charms, while Pacsun will be releasing colorful sweat sets and graphic tees inspired by McDonaldland.
The McDonaldland Meal will be available for a limited time, starting on August 12, so be sure to grab this nostalgic set while supplies last. If you’re interested in trying the Mt. McDonaldland Shake on its own, simply ask a crew member at your local McDonald’s location, and they’ll be able to accommodate your request.
Whether you’re discovering McDonaldland for the first time or reminiscing about childhood Happy Meal runs, the McDonaldland Meal is sure to spark joy and bring a sense of nostalgia to diners of all ages. Don’t miss out on this special trip through McDonald’s history with the McDonaldland Meal.
