Neko Health Secures $260 Million in Series B Funding for Preventative Healthcare Expansion
Neko Health, a company co-founded by Spotify CEO Daniel Ek, has recently announced a successful Series B funding round, raising $260 million. This funding will be used to further develop and expand their preventative healthcare service, which focuses on detecting cancers, cardiovascular diseases, and other conditions through noninvasive scans.
The company’s innovative approach combines hardware and software to provide comprehensive health scans that capture data on various aspects of a person’s health in just 15 minutes. Customers undergo the scan and have the opportunity to discuss the results with a doctor. Since launching the service in February 2023, Neko has scanned 2,707 individuals, uncovering significant health conditions in 6.6% of the participants.
One of Neko’s key selling points is its ability to detect life-threatening conditions such as atrial fibrillation and aortic aneurysms early on, enabling individuals to take proactive steps towards maintaining their health. The company sources most of its medical devices from third parties, offering a range of tools for assessing skin health, hemoglobin levels, and cardiovascular function.
The latest funding round, led by Lightspeed Venture Partners, will also support Neko’s research and development efforts in health diagnostics. The company is currently involved in three clinical studies in Sweden, focusing on areas such as Type 1 diabetes and cardiovascular health. Additionally, Neko plans to expand its services internationally, with a new site in London already operational and plans to enter the U.S. market in the near future.
With a growing waiting list of 100,000 individuals and a strong demand for its services globally, Neko Health is poised for significant growth in the coming months. The company’s mission to shift towards proactive healthcare through early detection and preventative measures is resonating with consumers, paving the way for a new era of personalized and accessible healthcare services.
