Orchard Mental Health Group Expands Reach with Acquisition of Maryland Counseling Associates
Orchard Mental Health Group has made a significant move in expanding its services with the recent acquisition of Maryland Counseling Associates. This acquisition adds four new locations to Orchard’s footprint and brings on board 31 new clinicians to its already impressive clinical workforce.
This acquisition marks the third for Orchard Mental Health Group in 2025, following the acquisitions of GBCC Behavioral Health and Oasis Behavioral Health Urgent Care earlier in the year. With these acquisitions, Orchard now boasts a team of over 165 mental health clinicians, offering a wide range of services including individual, group, and family therapy, psychological testing, medication management, and esketamine in the District of Columbia, Maryland, and Virginia (DMV) metro area.
Juliane Schoenherr, Chief Operating Officer of Orchard Mental Health Group, expressed excitement about the growth and expansion of the company. She stated, “This growth reflects more than just scale—it represents a strategic and values-driven investment in the communities we serve. By aligning strong operational systems with exceptional clinical care, we’re building a foundation that supports both our clients and our clinicians.”
Orchard Mental Health Group, formerly known as Quince Orchard Psychotherapy, is supported by The Graham Group, which invested in the company in 2023. The company’s expansion now includes services such as Suboxone, telehealth and virtual sessions, first-responder support, LGBTQ+ affirmative therapy, and culturally informed care offered in multiple languages.
Operating in various locations across Maryland, Virginia, and Pennsylvania, Orchard Mental Health Group focuses on treating patients through in-network arrangements with major insurance companies. The company plans to open additional locations in suburban and underserved areas of the DMV to ensure accessibility to high-quality mental health services.
Carrie Singer, founder of Orchard Mental Health Group, emphasized the importance of innovation and client-centered care in the company’s growth strategy. She stated, “It is hard to scale an insurance-based practice while keeping clients and clinicians happy, but we have managed to create a great model and hope to continue partnering and growing to ensure high-quality affordable services are available to clients across the DMV area.”
In recognition of its rapid growth and success, Orchard Mental Health Group was named one of the fastest-growing companies in the U.S. by Inc. 5,000 in 2022, with a revenue growth of 87% over a three-year period ending in 2021. This recent acquisition of Maryland Counseling Associates further solidifies Orchard’s position as a leader in providing comprehensive and accessible mental health services to communities in the DMV area.
