PAX Health Continues Expansion with Acquisition of Neuropsychology and Counseling Associates
Red Bank, New Jersey-based PAX Health has solidified its position as a leader in comprehensive mental health services with the recent completion of its third acquisition of 2025. The company has acquired Neuropsychology and Counseling Associates, an outpatient mental health practice, in a strategic move to strengthen its service offerings and expand its reach across New Jersey.
Acquisitions have proven to be a key component of PAX Health’s growth strategy. Since the beginning of the year, the company has successfully acquired two outpatient psychiatric providers: Harris Psychiatric Services and Richardson Psychiatric Associates. With the addition of Neuropsychology and Counseling Associates, PAX Health is further solidifying its presence in the mental health care landscape.
According to Lauren Ferguson, Chief of Staff at PAX Health, the company is focusing on enhancing its core services in psychiatry, talk therapy, and psychology for injured workers while also venturing into new markets in New York, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania. The acquisition of Neuropsychology and Counseling Associates allows PAX Health to expand its services and cater to a wider patient base.
Under the PAX brand, the team at Neuropsychology and Counseling Associates will now operate as “Neuropsychology and Counseling Associates, A PAX Health Company”. This integration will enable PAX Health to offer more comprehensive services and reach more patients in need of mental health care.
PAX Health was established in March 2024 following the acquisition and merger of three behavioral health practices by private equity firm HCAP Partners. Since its inception, PAX Health has been committed to improving access to comprehensive behavioral healthcare and addressing the mental health crisis in the country.
Anthony DeSena, CEO of PAX Health, expressed excitement about the latest acquisition, stating that the expertise of Neuropsychology and Counseling Associates’ team in clinical neuropsychology and evidence-based therapeutic approaches aligns perfectly with PAX Health’s mission. The company aims to fill the gaps in mental health services in states like New York and New Jersey where patients often face long wait times for specialty care.
As PAX Health serves Medicaid patients and underserved populations, the acquisition of companies that complement its service lines allows the company to reach more individuals and meet the increasing demand for mental health care. While there are currently no immediate plans for new acquisitions, PAX Health remains open to potential opportunities that align with its goals of expanding regional presence and service offerings.
With a commitment to providing quality mental health services and addressing the needs of diverse populations, PAX Health continues to lead the way in comprehensive behavioral healthcare.
