Instant ramen pioneer Nissin Foods is making a bold move into the frozen foods market with their new offering, Kanzen Meal. This innovative product is targeted towards GLP-1 users and health-conscious consumers who are seeking nutrient-dense meal options.
Kanzen Meal marks Nissin’s entry into the single-serve frozen meal category in the U.S. market, with the aim of providing a filling and nutritious option for consumers. Unlike other healthier frozen food brands that focus on calorie restriction, Kanzen Meal takes a different approach by prioritizing nutrient density. Through consumer focus groups, Nissin discovered that many individuals felt unsatisfied after consuming traditional frozen meals, leading them to seek additional food or ingredients to make the meal more filling.
The rise in popularity of GLP-1 weight loss drugs, such as Ozempic and Wegovy, has highlighted the importance of nutrient-dense meals for consumers. Additionally, these single-serve meals range from 460 to 520 calories.
