Veradigm Welcomes Don Trigg as New CEO
Name: Don Trigg
Previous title: CEO, Apree Health
New title: CEO, Veradigm
Don Trigg is set to assume the role of Chief Executive Officer at Veradigm, a health IT firm, starting on September 2nd, as announced in a press release on Monday.
As part of his compensation package, Trigg will receive an annual base salary of $1 million for his leadership at Veradigm. In addition, he will be eligible for an annual bonus of $1 million, along with an equity grant of $3 million in stock and at least $5 million in annual equity awards for the following year.
Prior to joining Veradigm, Trigg served as the CEO of Apree Health, a primary care and patient navigation company that was acquired by insurer Elevance earlier this year. He also brings a wealth of experience from his time at Cerner, where he held various roles from 2004 to 2010 and again from 2013 to 2021, ultimately serving as the president of the electronic health record vendor.
Trigg’s appointment follows the departure of Veradigm’s interim CEO, Tom Langan, who stepped down after a brief tenure. During Langan’s absence, Veradigm’s leadership was collectively managed by Jay Bhattacharyya, Eric Jacobson, and Lee Westerfield, who will now resume their respective roles within the company.
Veradigm has faced challenges in recent years related to financial reporting compliance, leading to its delisting from Nasdaq in February 2024 due to internal control failures. However, the company has made strides in rectifying these issues, issuing restated financial filings for previous years and providing preliminary results for the first quarter of this year. Veradigm aims to become current on its financial filings by 2026.
With Don Trigg at the helm, Veradigm looks to navigate through these challenges and drive growth in the competitive health IT industry. His extensive experience and leadership skills position him well to lead the company towards a successful future.
