Tan Tock Seng Hospital Introduces CGM-Paired Diabetes App
Tan Tock Seng Hospital (TTSH) has introduced an innovative AI-powered mobile diabetes app that works in conjunction with BUZUD’s continuous glucose monitoring device. The integrated digital diabetes system, CARB-CGM, provides real-time glucose readings and utilizes AI to estimate the carbohydrate content of meals through photo analysis. It can also determine insulin sensitivity factors based on health data analysis to offer personalized insulin dosage recommendations.
According to TTSH Medicine Division chairperson and adjunct associate professor Daniel Chew, the system eliminates the guesswork involved in administering insulin, addressing the challenges faced by patients requiring multiple daily doses of insulin. Incorrect insulin dosages can result in abnormal blood sugar levels.
The development of CARB-CGM is part of TTSH’s latest research collaboration with CGM device manufacturer BUZUD.
Indonesian Hospital Integrates genAI for Medical Resources
A regional general hospital in West Java, Indonesia, is set to integrate a generative AI-based medical resource platform into its medical reference system. Rumah Sakit Umum Daerah Umar Wirahadikusumah Sumedang has partnered with doctors’ networking platform Docquity to implement its Dx platform as part of its digital transformation. The platform integrates with PubMed, a globally recognized peer-reviewed medical research database, to provide access to medical cases and the latest international medical standards.
Hospital director Dr. H. Enceng emphasized the importance of keeping doctors well-informed with the latest research in the constantly evolving field of medical science.
Dx was first introduced as a learning tool for staff at community health centers across Sumedang last year, and now it will enhance the medical reference system at the hospital for improved patient care.
